Choose the Right
“Choose you this day whom ye will serve; . . . but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” ( Joshua 24:15).
Dear Parents,
This year we have the opportunity to learn along with our children the importance of choosing the right. ``Learning to make good choices is an important part of our Heavenly Father’s plan for us and will bring many blessings. (Primary General Presidency)`` I am excited about this theme because I too desire to increase my ability to choose the right even when it is difficult or I am tired or grumpy. As a Primary Presidency we hope to be able to help you as parents in this sacred opportunity and responsibility to bring up your children in light and truth. ( Doctrine and Covenants 93:40).
Because of our shortened meeting times on Sunday, right now in our Fairivew Branch we are unable to cover all the curriculum materials in Primary meeting time on Sunday. We are focusing on the topics in the Sharing Time outline during our Sunday meetings. Once or twice a month we will be incorporating material from the lessons the children would be getting during their classes if we had a 3 hour block. We encourage you as parents to go through the material from the class lesson manuals individually with your children. One excellent way to do this is to use the lessons for your Family Home Evenings. This year the Church has launched an excellent resource for helping teach the class lessons.
As a Primary Presidency we will use this Fairview Primary blog to keep you as parents up to date on what we are covering in class so that we can coordinate with you as parents so that “All thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children” (3 Nephi 22:13).
Please share your ideas for teaching lessons or comments about how particular lessons are helping you and your family draw closer to Christ. Together we can learn to Choose the Right!
We pray for you and your children. Thank you for your commitment to provide a bright future for them, filled with light and truth from God. He is blessing us as we do our best to follow Him.
